Umpires
have one of the toughest and most rewarding jobs in baseball. They are
responsible for keeping the game moving, ensuring the rules are
followed, and making rulings on balls and strikes, safes and outs, and
fair or fouls. When he calls the game right, he's hardly noticed,
putting the spotlight on the players, where it belongs.
All
candidates will be interviewed by the Umpire-in-Chief and
must attend an Umpiring clinic, typically held on a
Sunday in
January or February (date TBA soon). Equipment is provided by the
league, when necessary. All coaches and managers are also expected to umpire as needed.
For more information, stop by the field or e-mail umpires@ccnlittleleague.com.
To begin the process, submit a Volunteer Application, either during the fall season or on
one of the registration dates.
